</strong>Dogs understand best when you reward them for their good behavior.  If you teach your dog what you want, rather than punish him for what you don&#8217;t want, you build a relationship of mutual respect and lifelong trust.</p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong><strong>Agility Education<a href="http://strobussolutions.com/PositiveK9Solutions/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/tomahsmall-158x81.jpg"><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-22" title="tomahsmall-158x81" src="http://strobussolutions.com/PositiveK9Solutions/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/tomahsmall-158x81.jpg" alt="" width="192" height="117" /></a><br />
</strong>Learning to play the game of agility is one of the best ways to build a great relationship with your dog.   I teach agility classes in Valparaiso, IN at Canine Connect on Wednesdays and Thursdays and at Canine Country Club on Tuesdays. </p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>Small breed and adolescent problems<br />
</strong>Small breeds and adolescent dogs are a particular specialty of mine because they are often the most misunderstood canines.  With small breeds, owners expect too little.  With adolescent dogs, owners expect too much.</p>
<p><strong> </strong><strong><a href="http://strobussolutions.com/PositiveK9Solutions/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/mistytwocrop-157x240.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-21" title="mistytwocrop-157x240" src="http://strobussolutions.com/PositiveK9Solutions/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/mistytwocrop-157x240.jpg" alt="" width="214" height="264" /></a></strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>Private lessons versus group instruction<br />
</strong>If you have a sensitive or reactive dog, private instruction can be much more successful than attempting to train in a busy group situation full of distractions.  Dogs that are excited and stressed will not learn.</p>
